I filed for divorce in May of 2013 after trying my best to save the “marriage” Okay let’s be honest we all try our best, right? But some of us have a spouse who gets who we are, some of us have a spouse that loves them no matter what, while some have a spouse that take, take, take. There is no “one spouse fits all”. Divorce is the worst. It will make the sane go insane and the crazy go nuts. I have a lesbian neighbor that votes no on gay marriage because she doesn’t want to suffer through what we straight people deal with. But we love the chase and we chase after love.
After filing for divorce my lawyer told me they would be using the Moore Marsden formula to calculate the community interest in my home. This was the first I had ever heard of this formula and being the "curious" (cheap) person that I am I immediately wondered how much money are we were actually talking about. After hours of searching and racking my brain I wasn't able to find an easy answer to my question. Eventually I did come up with an amount. Of course I didn't like it and I wished I could change it, but the results are what we live with.
Later both my lawyer and my spouses lawyer agreed on the amount I calculated. So feeling like I should give back to the divorce community I created this website.
I don't make any money from this site other than to compensate my costs to run it. I don't sell any information I collect and never will.
